Terms of Use
The agreement between you and this service. Short, and worth reading — especially the part about what this tool is not.
Last updated:
By creating an account or using U-Ariadna College Consultant, you agree to these terms. The service is operated by the operator of uariadna.com, an individual based in California.
What this service is — and what it is not
U-Ariadna College Consultant is an independent tool for information and planning. It helps a family lay out four years of high school, keep track of A–G requirements and application dates, and compare California colleges.
It is not:
- a university or college;
- a school or school district;
- an admissions office;
- an official academic counselor;
- a professional college admissions advisor.
We have no relationship with the University of California, the California State University, or any private college, and we do not act on their behalf or on behalf of any school.
About the information you see here
Admission requirements, A–G course rules, how GPA is calculated, application deadlines, tuition and costs, acceptance rates and program listings all change — sometimes between one admissions cycle and the next, sometimes mid-year. We show the source and the admissions cycle for the figures we publish so you can judge how current they are.
Before anything that matters, check the official source. If a decision depends on a date, a requirement or a number, confirm it on the website of the college or system in question, or with your school counselor. This tool is designed to help you keep track and ask better questions — not to be the final word.
Nothing here is a prediction. We do not guarantee admission, eligibility, financial aid, or any other outcome, and the Reach / Target / Likely classification is an estimate built from published admit rates, not a forecast about your student.
Who may use it
You must be at least 13 years old. The service is built for high school students and their parents or guardians. If you are creating an account on behalf of a student, you confirm you are their parent or guardian, or that you have their agreement to enter their information.
Your account
Sign-in is passwordless: a link to your email, or Google. Keep access to that email secure, because anyone who can read it can reach your account. Tell us at privacy@uariadna.com if you think someone else has gained access.
You are responsible for what you enter. Only add information about a student you are entitled to enter it for.
Acceptable use
Please do not:
- try to reach accounts or data that are not yours;
- scrape, copy in bulk, or resell the college reference data;
- overload the service with automated requests;
- upload anything unlawful, or anything you do not have the right to upload;
- use the service to harass anyone.
Who owns what
The service — its design, text and code — belongs to its operator. The information you enter about your family stays yours; you give us permission to store and process it only in order to run the service for you, as described in our Privacy Policy.
Facts about colleges come from public sources, including federal IPEDS data, the University of California, and figures the colleges publish themselves. Those facts are not ours and we claim no ownership of them.
Cost
The service is free. There is no paid tier, no trial that turns into a charge, and we do not ask for payment details. If that ever changes, existing users will be told before it applies to them.
Ending your use
You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Account, and everything attached to it goes with it.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or where required by law. Except in cases of abuse, we will tell you first and give you a chance to export or correct what you have.
The service as it is
The service is provided as it is. We work to keep it accurate and available, but we do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that every figure will be current at the moment you read it.
To the extent the law allows, the operator is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the service — including an admissions outcome, a missed deadline, or a decision made on information you did not verify with the official source. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Changes
The service will change as it is developed, and these terms may change with it. The date at the top shows the current version. Material changes will be announced inside the product rather than left for you to notice.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes belong to the state or federal courts located in California.
